30/06/25 Our send mail server will have interupted service this evening between 20:00 and 21:00 this will affect all customers. We will do our best to keep disruption to a minimum.

16/06/25 We have sucessfully migrated all our normal servers across to ARM based computers this afternoon. Going froma continuos draw of 450~500+Watts now down to a maximum 98~110Watts usually running around 98Watts. Andy and I would like to thank everyone who has had a few jinks in the systems since we started this journey back in September 2024. Thank you so much for your patience. We aim to do no major work over the summer maybe just a few frills and icing on the cake like a new power server to reduce down the VM's in the event of a power outage. There are a few other ideas but we will let you know when we have decided what we can do. So new hardware, software and OS's. This now gives us better response to various internet nasties. We are of course still tuning things and some of the new items take a little bit of getting used to and are different but they are there to help keep you and computers as safe and secure as we can manage. I am sure Paul Vigay we will checking on Orpheus and be cheering us on especially on the use of the ARM chips.
06/06/25 We will be migrating a number of websites and email accounts to new servers over the next week. We will aim to keep any disruption to a minimum; migrations will be scheduled for times outside conventional working hours. Some websites will experience service interruptions as they are updated to run on the newer software. 12:28

02/02/25 We will be migrating email services hosted on trixie to a new server on Wednesday 4th February at 7.30am. Sending mail will not be affected, but downloading or reading mail will not be possible while the migration takes place. Email on rex will not be affected. 08:03

14/12/24 There has been a Major Service Outage (MSO) this morning for about 50mins which has affected a good number of our customers including ourselves. Service has now been restored, but may be a bit flaky for a while. 11:54
10/12/24 The recent update to Apple iPad OS18 has broken the IMAP protocol on some devices for many e-mail suppliers including ourselves. Not all iPads are affected. We now have to wait until Apple issues a software fix for this problem. 17:13
30/10/24 We have had over 10,000 spam e-mails an hour today mostly on our old argonet domain. As this is affecting all our customers email with delays the argonet domain is now on its own spam server. This will have two results, general mail should now be processed more quickly. However it will mean that argonet addresses will still suffer delays due the thousands of incoming spam. We will continue to manage all spam as best possible. 14:10
25/10/24 We are temporarily suspending c.s.a.apps due to the group being swamped with binaries for download. Once we have done that we will re-visit the group in a week and re-activate it if the spamming has stopped. 14:50
24/09/24 Due to an errant piece of test kit we have had odd cases of various servers being unavailable on the internet today. The box in question has now been switched off until we are happy it will work correctly. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused. 16:23

13/05/24 Last week we became aware that the 'new' version of Newshound was having issues with our News server. I am happy to say this has now been resolved with ourselves and R-Comp and the Newshound programmer all working and testing together. Our server now has extended capabilities and I would like to thank our partners for there quick response. 12:30

03/04/24 Advanced warning the office will be closed over the weekend of the 11-12 May as I have a cataract operation. I expect to be back in the office the following Monday 13th May all being well. 09:44
02/04/24 I have just been informed that BT have very kindly turned off all the services on our 01702 462385 landline and as it will take longer to restore the divert and answering service than it will for me to change it over to our VoIP service, which will cost me less, this is what we are doing. However durning this time the only number that is working is the mobile one.
